New South Wales
Merewether is Newcastle's premier surf beach, a long south-facing crescent that catches SE to SSW swells and is renowned for producing powerful, hollow beach break waves. It has hosted WSL Championship Tour events and regularly fires with quality peaks across the whole beach. The Olympic-sized rock baths at the southern end are a Newcastle institution.
